Silvia Purdie established Place Consultancy in 2020. She brings over three decades of community leadership and innovation:
Counselling and mental health Silvia is a trained counsellor and supervisor, working in private practice in Rolleston and online. Diploma in Counselling (Applied) through Weltech, and a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology (Open Polytech) Provisional Member of NZ Christian Counsellors Association. Full Member of Ora Taiao, New Zealand Climate & Health Council Faith-based environmental action. Silvia convenes the Christchurch group of A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand. She is active in establishing Eco Church NZ, and developing a Zero Waste programme for churches.
Author and trainer
Silvia speaks regularly on a range of topics, including climate change and mental health. Two books are currently in the publishing process: 'Awhi Mai Awhi Atu: Women in Creation Care' 'Moving On: Grief in Ministry Transition' She has also published a collection of Psalms for children and all-age worship called 'Let's Say a Psalm' |

Silvia is a National Ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. She has held several positions of national and regional leadership, including 5 years on the ministry policy board.
She holds a Bachelor of Theology, a Post graduate Diploma in Theology through Otago University, and a Diploma in Ministry through the PCANZ.

Trained through Playcentre, Silvia was a supervisor, Bicultural Officer and Education Convenor. She is passionate about pre-school music!

She currently lives near Christchurch with her husband. They have three young adult kids and a foster daughter. In their free time they are currently helping a friend with a patch of regenerating bush on the Banks Peninsula.
