Wāhi/Place Bulletins
Bulletin 5: 10 December 2023
Meri Kirihimete! Merry Christmas!
I write this, my fifth Wāhi/Place Bulletin, a little apologetically. Partly because this is a crazy time of year and who has time for reading?! And because it has taken me so long. This work went ‘on the back burner’ for the last few months. I found myself with post-viral fatigue, which required lots of rest. Then I launched into renovating an old cottage. So while many people are now in a stressful rush to get things done by Christmas, I find myself with space to think and reconnect with people and projects that matter to me.
The fatigue taught me the importance of letting go and doing bugger-all for a while.
The reno project taught me the value of a home, of quality workmanship, people you can trust, and of sheer hard work.
As you look back on 2023, what stands out?
What did you struggle with? Where were the joys?
